Legacy is exactly what his name says. We decided that we wanted to bring our original herdsire, Gavin, back into our herd, while also experimenting with line breeding, as many have positive results. We decided to breed Avalon, one of our remaining few Gavin daughters, and AI her back to Gavin. The result was Legacy and his sister Cali. We were unsure of how Legacy was going to turn out, but as he got older, he got nicer. We began using him this fall on a handful of does, and as our 2018 doelings become old enough to breed, he will become our primary herdsire.
