Castration offered after 3 months.

Dis budding offered for Free, I will not guarantee no scurs.

We test the adult animals once a year for CAE and vaccinate the adults for CL and do random testing which includes things like Brucellosis and Q fever

We also offer to board pack prospects(weaned animals) to allow buyers time to get everything in order before they pick up their new packers. The price is $50.00 per month per prospect and needs to be paid monthly with a set pick up date agreed upon.

CASTRATION:

Surgically- by vet- the testicles are cut off
under sedation (we suggest fall or later for this for less fly strike problems)
This is done by one of the vets in the valley. This is offered at the request of the buyer with the fee being paid up front.

Banded- They are banded between 3 and 4 months of age, by us, this is included in the Purchase price.

Castration can be done at any age but for proper urinary track development, it should be done at least at the 4-6 month mark, but the bigger the better.

HORNS:
DKH Destiny doe kids will be disbudded unless you request horns left on prior to or within the first few weeks of birth. Any dehorned wethers/bucks require 50% payment in full and within the 1st week of life. After this time, the base of the horns are often too large to be done without the assistance of a vet. No Scurs, can be guaranteed. We do a three circle burn to help minimize this, but one of the draw backs to later castrations, is that the buck hormones make for scurs and horn regrowth sometimes. We keep a close eye and will reburn if necessary. We do our own dis budding.

I need to know a.s.a.p. and fees need to be paid in full up front. No- Monies back if you change your mind.

 BREEDS:
Currently we mainly offer Alpine, Lamancha,  Nubian, Sannen and  Boer as well as Crosses of these breeds.  For 2019 no cross bred animals are scheduled at this time.

 When to buy:
DKH Destiny typically breeds to kid out in late January through May.
Pack prospect kids are available from anytime in that time frame till sold out.

Waiting List:
There is a waiting list available for those that want first pick on this year’s kid crop. We reserve the right to retain any kid for herd replacement. Buyers are responsible for health papers, crates, and costs for transporting. We prefer that you come pick up the kid in person so you. can see the relatives, but we realize that is not always possible.

MAKING THE CUT:
Our pack goat prospects (bucklings) are handpicked for size, conformation, and temperament. Not all babies are pulled at birth and bottle fed on heat treated colostrum and pasteurized milk. DKH Destiny babies are taken for short trail walks and work up to longer walks depending on how long they are here. This is part of their basic training.

 BASIC BABY PACK TRAINING:

DKH Destiny, Basic Training, consists of short walks around the over 6 acres working up to longer trail hikes to help condition and strengthen the kids instinct to follow. This will also get them used to places other than their own surroundings.  They are exposed to cats, dogs, cows, horses, chickens and people as well as all different types of fencing.

Please keep in mind, that basic training is just that, basic. Any training will need to be continued by the buyer.

We sometimes offer doelings for sale, and our  doelings are put through the same training and care as our bucklings. Our pack prospect does are normally large, at around 200 pounds and up mature weight.

DISCLAIMER-
although DKH Destiny will make every effort to help you choose a pack goat prospect that will suit your needs, all animals grow differently.  all genetics reproduce differently.  all owners feed differently.  we will not be responsible for the growth or training of a pack goat prospect once they have left DKH Destiny farm, unless a genetic defect has been found to be the issue.
